1. The forewings are sulphur yellow shading into orange-yellow terminally. 2. The thorax and abdomen are sulphur yellow , streaked with ochreous scales. 3. The forewings are pale pale sulphur yellow , marked with reddish brown. 4. Very often this inner edge is bordered by a suffusion of sulphur yellow . 5. Most varieties are coral red or sulphur yellow . 6. The forewings are sulphur yellow with a light purplish Y-shape overlaid with lead colored scales. 7. The forewings are clear sulphur yellow , slightly tinged with brownish on the outer fourth of the costa. 8. The hindwings are sulphur yellow with a subbasal dark line which is only prominent above the inner margin. 9. The forewings are pale sulphur yellow , with the costa narrowly orange from before the middle to the apex. 10. Many " Lactarius " species are similarly coloured, but not too many exude white milk that turns sulphur yellow .
